Fees and Insurance

Fees

Please call me for information on my current rate. I meet individuals for 50, 75, and 100 minute sessions.

I may have some flexibility regarding fees for people in particularly unusual circumstances. In this case, we will have an initial conversation which may also include an assessment of your finances. I also strive to make groups, workshops, and retreats affordable and income appropriate.

I am committed to whole health and teams of support for my clients. I am happy to communicate with your other providers, as appropriate, to assure you have the most complete Circle of Care.

Do you take Insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. Payment is made to me in full at the time of service. I am not on any insurance panels though, if necessary, will provide a statement (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for direct reimbursement. Insurance plan coverage varies widely, so please check with your provider for specific coverage and rates of reimbursement.

Questions to ask your insurance company:

  • Do I have mental health coverage?
  • What portion of my bill will be covered if services are obtained by an out of network provider?
  • Is there a limit to the number of sessions covered per calendar year?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

Out-of-network vs In-network:

Many individuals prefer out-of-network, often a more intimate quality of care where decisions are made based on the particular circumstances of your therapy rather than the requirements of in-network managed care. This allows us to respond spontaneously to whatever emerges in the course of therapy in a personally appropriate, attuned manner. Furthermore, being out-of-network increases the level of confidentiality and privacy.

Nevertheless, you may still prefer or need to stay in-network. In-network is especially good for more complex mental health issues, where detailed health records carefully track progress across multiple providers.
